Data Analyst (Research)

Job Description:

Essential Job Functions: 

 

  1. Engage in effective communication with internal and external customers, gathering information and providing regular project updates.
  2. Lead the seamless integration of clinical research data into the organization's data infrastructure, ensuring alignment with project objectives and promoting interoperability.
  3. Collaborate closely with research teams to identify data requirements and define key metrics essential for evaluating study outcomes, thereby contributing to the design of research studies and protocols.
  4. Assess and validate clinical data for quality, consistency, and accuracy, implementing necessary data cleansing and transformation techniques to prepare data for analysis.
  5. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of data acquisition processes, variable definitions, and analytical methodologies for clinical research projects, ensuring traceability, governance, and reproducibility.
  6. Foster ongoing communication with research stakeholders to comprehend evolving research objectives and adjust data analysis strategies accordingly, providing ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed.
  7. Contribute expertise to Epic-related projects and initiatives within the organization.
  8. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  9. Adheres to Client’s Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

 

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 

 

  1. Bachelor Degree in Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Statistics or related quantitative STEM field.
  2. Strong technical acumen, coupled with exceptional project management and communication skills.
  3. Experience in a healthcare environment and familiarity with healthcare data types (e.g., EHR, claims, MAR).
  4. Ability to analyze complex problems, review related information, and develop and evaluate options for effective solution implementation.
  5. Epic certifications such as EPIC Clinical Data Model.
  6. Experience working on clinical research projects, showcasing a deep understanding of study cohort creation and data variable definitions.
  7. Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement data collection strategies for clinical research studies.
  8. Proficiency in extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) clinical trial data from diverse sources into analytical platforms for comprehensive analysis.
  9. Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements specific to clinical research, ensuring the accurate and ethical handling of sensitive healthcare data.
  10. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and other industry-specific protocols to maintain data integrity and quality throughout the research lifecycle.
  11. Intermediate to expert proficiency in SQL.
  12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  13. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

  3. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to convey ideas and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical teams.
  4. Ability to develop project plans, roadmaps, and requirements.
  5. Proficient in coordinating and managing project team activities, effectively communicating changes and progress.
  6. Experience working with IRB protocols
