About the Role:We’re seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst who is motivated by challenges, driven by curiosity, and committed to making a tangible difference. As a GIS Analyst at AI Governance Alliance, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our spatial data initiatives, harnessing cutting-edge geospatial technologies to empower strategic decision-making, and helping ensure AI development aligns with ethical guidelines and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management: Collect, clean, and analyze geospatial data from diverse sources, ensuring accuracy and usability.

  • Spatial Analysis: Perform advanced spatial modeling and analysis to support AI governance projects, including urban planning, environmental monitoring, and predictive modeling.

  • Visualization: Develop visually compelling and insightful maps, dashboards, and reports using GIS software like ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar tools.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with data scientists, policy experts, and stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and drive ethical AI applications.

  • Research & Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations in GIS, spatial AI, and data governance to inform and improve practices.

  • Compliance & Security: Ensure all geospatial projects adhere to data privacy regulations, ethical standards, and governance protocols.

What We're Looking For:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, GIS, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in GIS analysis or a related role.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in GIS platforms (ArcGIS, QGIS), spatial databases (PostGIS, SQL), programming languages (Python, R), and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).

  • Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to translate complex spatial data into actionable intelligence.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present findings and recommendations to diverse audiences.

  • Ethical Commitment: A passion for ethical AI governance and an understanding of the societal impacts of spatial data and technology.
