What You’ll Do:
- Mission Planning: Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop mission timelines, operational plans, and mission success criteria. Ensure all tasks and milestones are aligned to ensure timely and effective execution.
- Coordinate Cross-Functional Teams: Serve as the central point of contact for all teams involved in mission execution, including engineering, operations, logistics, and external partners. Facilitate communication and ensure all stakeholders are aligned and on track.
- Monitor Mission Progress: Oversee mission operations in real time, ensuring that tasks are being completed as planned, troubleshooting any issues, and adapting strategies as needed to meet objectives.
- Manage Resources: Ensure the effective allocation and management of mission resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget. Track project progress, adjusting as necessary to keep everything on course.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks throughout the mission lifecycle and develop mitigation plans to ensure mission success. Monitor and address risks in real time, maintaining focus on overall mission goals.
- Support Decision Making: Provide critical data and analysis to leadership teams, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding mission execution, adjustments, and future planning.
- Ensure Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and detailed reports on mission status, including any deviations from the original plan, challenges encountered, and solutions implemented.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience in mission coordination, project management, or operations management, preferably in aerospace, defense, or a related technical field.
- Experience in cross-functional team collaboration, with the ability to coordinate efforts across multiple teams and stakeholders to ensure mission success.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage complex schedules, resources, and risks in high-pressure environments.
- A solid understanding of project management principles and the ability to apply them effectively in a mission-oriented context.
- Ability to think critically and quickly adapt to unforeseen challenges, making decisions that ensure the mission continues to progress.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work well under pressure, maintaining composure and focus in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
Bonus Points:
- Experience in aerospace, space exploration, or defense industries, with familiarity in mission operations or engineering processes.
- A degree in Aerospace Engineering, Project Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or similar methodologies.
- Familiarity with mission simulation software, space mission planning tools, or data analysis platforms.
- Experience in managing multi-million-dollar budgets and high-stakes resources.
