The Artificial Intelligence Strategist will lead the development and implementation of Lone Star and Hudson Advisors' Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role identifies and executes high-impact AI and automation opportunities across internal operations, underwriting, asset management, and portfolio company initiatives. The AI Strategist is a thought leader, driving adoption, managing risk, and ensuring measurable outcomes from AI initiatives.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and refine the organization’s overarching AI strategy in collaboration with executive leadership.
- Identify and evaluate high-value opportunities for AI application across core business areas, including underwriting, asset management, corporate/back-office operations, and portfolio company operations.
- Oversee the deployment of AI tools, such as ChatGPT Enterprise, and ensure their effective integration into workflows.
- Act as a thought leader on AI integration, ensuring alignment with ethical standards and scalability goals.
- Track and report on AI adoption, cost savings, ROI, and other key metrics to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with technical and operational teams to optimize AI applications, ensuring data security, compliance, governance and ethical standards.
- Facilitate training and awareness programs to enhance AI literacy across the organization.
Stay informed on emerging AI technologies and trends, providing actionable insights and updates to executive leadership.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of AI applications, machine learning concepts, and their practical implications for business operations.

Knowledge of common programming languages and knowledge of the most widely used data environments is required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or a related field is required.
Advanced degree (Master’s in Data Science, Software Engineering, MBA) preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in AI integration, digital transformation, and/or strategy development.
- 1 – 2 years of hands on experience in AI techniques such as natural-language processing; computer vision, and/or deep learning tools such as PyTorch, TensorFlow and AI/ML libraries such as HuggingFace.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale AI and automation initiatives in a corporate or investment environment.
Experience working with portfolio companies is a plus.
Other Skills:
- Expertise in AI tools and platforms; ability to filter and seek out best fit vendors and tools for AI applications.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
Advanced programming skills in Python, R, Java, or C++.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office setting and may require extended hours during critical project phases.
Travel Requirements:
Travel may be required periodically, primarily to collaborate with portfolio companies and attend industry events.
