Salary Range: $125,500 - $212,800 annually (varies by location)

We’re looking for a Responsible AI Data Scientist to join our Generative AI Innovation Center and play a key role in driving the responsible adoption of Generative AI for customers worldwide.
What You’ll Do:
As a Responsible AI Data Scientist, you’ll work on the frontier of Generative AI and collaborate closely with AWS product teams, customers, and industry leaders to ensure responsible, fair, and secure AI implementations. You will:
- Guide Customers on Responsible AI: Provide expert guidance to customers adopting Generative AI with best practices for security, privacy, and ethical considerations, ensuring AI models are fair, transparent, and bias-free.
- Operationalize Generative AI Workloads: Assist customers in transitioning from proof of concept to production with robust guardrails to ensure secure, ethical, and scalable AI deployments.
- Mitigate AI Risks: Develop thought leadership content and technical assets to address risks like bias, offensive content, and AI vulnerabilities, while demonstrating effective risk mitigation techniques.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with AWS GenAI engineers, AWS product owners, and customer-facing teams to launch innovative services and ensure that AI models align with best practices and security standards.
- Thought Leadership: Represent AWS at major industry events, AWS re:Invent, and conferences as a thought leader in Responsible AI.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
To thrive in this role, you should have a strong technical foundation in AI/ML, combined with a passion for ethical AI practices. Here’s what we’re looking for:
- 2+ years as a Data Scientist: Proven experience in data science roles, with deep familiarity in machine learning and statistical modeling techniques.
- AI/ML Expertise: Hands-on experience with Generative AI models, including the ability to apply theoretical models in practical environments.
- Responsible AI Experience: Deep knowledge of Responsible AI practices, such as bias mitigation, fairness evaluation, and AI vulnerability assessments.
- Data Querying & Scripting Skills: Proficient in SQL, Python, or other relevant scripting/statistical languages (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab).
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex technical topics to diverse audiences—from executives to developers—and drive cross-functional collaborations.
