As the Director of AI and Analytics, you will play a pivotal role in transforming McKinsey into a fully data- and AI-enabled organization. Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, you will work with top minds in technology, AI, and analytics to shape strategies that revolutionize how we operate and serve clients.


What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute McKinsey’s AI and analytics vision aligned with organizational goals.
  • Transform decision-making by embedding data-driven insights at every level.
  • Create a roadmap for AI/ML innovation, integrating analytics across our global ecosystem.
  • Champion the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, demonstrating measurable impact on client engagements and internal operations.

AI & Analytics Innovation

  • Oversee the development and deployment of AI/ML models to address complex challenges and uncover new opportunities.
  • Build scalable tools like feature stores, experiment tracking systems, and MLOps frameworks to streamline development.
  • Expand the use of semantic models, ontologies, and knowledge graphs for diverse use cases.
  • Promote data literacy and lead the charge in adopting "BI with AI."

Governance & Ethical AI

  • Establish frameworks for responsible AI, focusing on bias detection, explainability, and transparency.
  • Safeguard data and models against adversarial attacks and poisoning threats.

Performance Optimization

  • Define KPIs to measure the impact of AI initiatives.
  • Optimize the lifecycle of models through robust MLOps practices, ensuring scalability and reliability.

Team Development & Culture

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of data analysts, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and AI specialists.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation, learning, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Develop tailored learning paths to keep teams aligned with emerging technologies.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with senior business leaders to identify high-impact opportunities.
  • Simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders to drive trust and adoption.
  • Represent McKinsey as a thought leader in industry forums and research initiatives.

What You Bring

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Computer Science, AI, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in strategic and operational AI and analytics implementation.
  • Proven success leading large, multidisciplinary teams and delivering significant value from analytics and AI initiatives.

Expertise

  • Deep understanding of data fabric, mesh architectures, and emerging AI technologies.
  • Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in a consulting environment is highly desirable.
