What You'll Be Driving
- Lead Innovation: Develop the technical vision for new AI-driven customer-value concepts, from initial prototyping to integrating advanced third-party solutions.
- Engineer Solutions: Design and implement AI capabilities that power future generations of Nissan vehicles and the connected ecosystem.
- Pioneer Research: Drive innovation at the frontier of AI by designing principled models, publishing research, and authoring patents.
- Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work with experts in computer science, robotics, social science, and business to create transformative automotive experiences.
- Communicate Progress: Present technical achievements and insights to stakeholders, showcasing the real-world impact of your work.
The Expertise You Bring
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- At least 5 years of relevant software engineering and AI deployment experience.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing and guiding project teams.
- Solid foundation in Computer Science and Data Management best practices.
- Proven expertise in one or more of the following AI fields:
- Sequential Decision Making and Recommendation Systems
- Sensor, Image, and Geo-spatial Data Inference
- Multi-modal Generative AI
- Learning from Demonstrations or Feedback
- A passion for solving practical AI deployment challenges and delivering real-world impact.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with gesture-based or embodied interaction.
- Expertise in architecting AI solutions for user-activity recognition, mood/emotion modeling, or interaction design.
- Strong open-source contributions following best software practices.
- Industry experience integrating AI solutions into larger system architectures.
- Publications in top-tier venues such as AAAI, NeurIPS, IJCAI, or similar conferences.
