What You’ll Be Building
- Rich Search Experiences: Deliver world-class user interfaces powered by advanced search and machine learning technologies for Apple’s iconic apps.
- Real-Time Data Systems: Design and manage real-time data ingestion pipelines that power Sports, Stocks, and Weather applications.
- Cutting-Edge ML Solutions: Apply machine learning techniques and deploy AI models (e.g., deep learning models using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX) to enhance search relevance and query understanding.
- Scalable Backend Systems: Build robust, high-performance server software for scalable, real-time search capabilities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with world-class teams to align technical solutions with Apple’s vision for innovation and user-centric design.
What You Bring to the Table
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: BS in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- 2+ years of industry experience in collaborative software development environments.
- Proven expertise in writing high-performance server software on Linux/Unix.
- Proficiency in at least two programming languages: C/C++, Go, Python, Java, Scala.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in related fields.
- Experience with:
- Real-time ingestion pipelines for large-scale systems.
- Search ranking and relevance optimization and building ML models for query understanding.
- RESTful services and supporting production environments.
- Machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX for model development and deployment.

- Salary Range: $143,100 – $264,200 annually (depending on skills, experience, and location).
