We’re seeking a Senior Data Scientist to be a driving force in the end-to-end lifecycle of building models that empower the insurance industry to mitigate risks, protect businesses, and create a safer digital ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Risk Modeling: Design, validate, and deploy probabilistic cyber risk models to quantify financial impacts for individual entities and large portfolios in the (re)insurance and financial sectors.
  • Innovate End-to-End: Build robust modeling pipelines that integrate AWS Glue, Airflow, and SageMaker for production-ready deployment.
  • Uncover Insights: Explore diverse datasets to engineer features and assumptions that enhance risk models, including unstructured and semi-structured data.
  • Develop Visual Tools: Create interactive and insightful tools to visualize the potential impacts of cyber events for clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate Deeply: Work with product managers, engineers, and domain experts to design innovative solutions and communicate results effectively to clients.
  • Shape Best Practices: Define globally consistent methodologies for data validation, feature selection, and catastrophe exposure modeling.

What You Bring

  • Academic Excellence: PhD or MS in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Technical Mastery:
    • Extensive experience in Python (pandas, pyspark, Scikit-learn, statsmodels, XGBoost) and SQL for data manipulation and machine learning.
    • Proficiency with AWS tools (S3, EC2, Athena, Redshift) and pipelines powered by Airflow, Glue, and SageMaker.
    • Expertise in statistical data analysis, feature engineering, and predictive modeling.
  • Full-Stack Data Science: Experience building, deploying, and maintaining end-to-end modeling pipelines with a focus on scalability and automation.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex technical insights into actionable strategies for stakeholders, clients, and cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: A passion for tackling tough challenges in dynamic environments and a drive to pick up new tools and domain expertise.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Enthusiasm for guiding and inspiring teams of world-class colleagues while fostering innovation.

Preferred Experience

  • Hands-on experience with catastrophe modeling or similar fields.
  • Familiarity with cyber risk quantification and the financial impacts of cybersecurity threats.
  • Experience operationalizing ML models with MLOps frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of GenAI models, LLM frameworks, and tools.
