Your Role as Staff AI Researcher
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Innovation:
- Identify emerging technology gaps and unlock new AI-driven business value.
- Develop and execute long-term research plans, leading to publications, prototypes, and product integration.
- AI Research Excellence:
- Advance the state of the art in deep learning, generative AI, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
- Contribute to foundational research on LLM fine-tuning, contrastive learning, and cost-effective AI pipelines.
- Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
- Expand relationships across DataRobot and with global AI teams to foster innovation.
- Mentor peers and foster collaboration across organizational boundaries.
- Technical Execution:
- Lead hands-on coding efforts, leveraging Python, PyTorch, JAX, and other tools to build and refine AI solutions.
What You’ll Bring
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Academic Background:
- PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related field.
- Proven track record of academic excellence, with publications in top-tier AI/ML conferences.
- AI Expertise:
- Mastery of deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain).
- Experience with foundation model pre-training, fine-tuning, and generative AI evaluation.
- Proficiency in retrieval, ranking, and prompting strategies.
- Technical Prowess:
