If you’re passionate about advancing the field of Generative AI and want to work on cutting-edge technologies that make a tangible impact, we’d love to hear from you!
About the Role
As a GenAI Research Scientist on our team, you’ll be at the forefront of AI innovation. You will push the boundaries of what’s possible with large-scale language models (LLMs) and help encode groundbreaking science into our platform.
What You’ll Do
- Innovate: Stay ahead of the curve by tracking and advancing the latest research in deep learning.
- Develop & Deploy: Build state-of-the-art methods that enhance model reliability, safety, and performance—then rigorously evaluate and implement them into production.
- Collaborate: Join a team of world-class researchers and engineers to deliver solutions that empower real users.
- Share Knowledge: Focus on research that will be shared publicly, democratizing access to modern AI advancements.
- Customer Impact: Ensure that your research directly benefits customers training large models, creating immense business value.
Why You’ll Love This Role
You’re a great fit if you:
- Live for LLMs: Comfortable working with models with tens to hundreds of billions of parameters.
- Engineer & Research: Strong ML and RL software engineering skills combined with experience conducting and publishing novel research.
- Specialize in GenAI: Expertise in areas like fine-tuning, RLHF, LLM tool-use, or pre-training advancements.
- Care About Impact: Passionate about making AI accessible to users at scale and solving real-world problems.
- Love Open Collaboration: Thrive in fast-paced, small teams that value transparency and cross-functional collaboration.
What You Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
- Background in AI/ML: A strong understanding of machine learning concepts and real-world applications.
- Research Experience: Track record of publishing novel methods in areas like fine-tuning, RLHF, or LLM optimization.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and coding languages like Python.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to present and explain technical research to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience improving or fine-tuning pre-trained LLMs.
- Interest in building AI that prioritizes safety, reliability, and usability.
- A strong desire to publicly share research innovations that advance the field.
A PhD is not required. We welcome candidates with bachelor's or master's degrees and encourage those with "research engineer" experience to apply.
