About the Role

As the Health IT Division CTO, you will:

  • Set the Vision: Define the technical strategy and roadmap for next-generation health IT solutions aligned with Leidos’ mission and market trends.
  • Drive Innovation: Lead the development of advanced, scalable, and secure solutions for civilian health IT modernization.
  • Build Relationships: Collaborate with government agencies, healthcare organizations, and internal teams to understand industry needs and deliver transformative solutions.
  • Lead Teams: Inspire and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Capture Opportunities: Support business development by leading technical solution strategies, proposals, and major capture efforts.
  • Embrace Emerging Tech: Stay ahead of industry trends and integrate advancements like AI/ML, data interoperability, cybersecurity, and cloud computing to maintain Leidos’ competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape the future of civilian health IT through cutting-edge solutions that address customer-specific needs and market demands.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including agencies such as HHS, CMS, NIH, and CDC, to deliver impactful results.
  • Oversee solution architecture and integration to ensure scalability, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST, FISMA).
  • Provide technical leadership in proposal development and pre-sales activities, ensuring winning strategies for major opportunities.
  • Manage risks, drive process improvements, and ensure program success within scope, schedule, and budget.

What You’ll Bring

  • Education & Experience:
    • Master’s degree in a relevant field and 15+ years in technology leadership, including 8+ years in Health IT.
    • Additional experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Deep knowledge of at least three domains, such as cloud computing, AI/ML, data science, health IT interoperability, EHR systems, cybersecurity, or low-code platforms.
  • Leadership & Strategy:
    • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and providing strategic direction for large-scale technology initiatives.
  • Industry Insights:
    • In-depth understanding of the U.S. civilian healthcare landscape and agencies like CMS, NIH, and FDA.
  • Business Development Prowess:
    • Success in leading proposal efforts, writing white papers, and developing winning strategies for major captures.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Health IT, or a related field.
  • Experience leading digital modernization efforts with technologies like cloud infrastructure, AI/ML, and data-driven healthcare solutions.
  • Expertise in health system integration, including EHR systems and data interoperability.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Robust knowledge of healthcare IT compliance standards and security frameworks.

Compensation & Work Environment

This role offers a competitive salary in the range of $148,850.00 - $269,075.00, along with eligibility for incentive compensation and benefits. The position is based in the Metro DC area, with a hybrid work model requiring 50% on-site presence.
