About the Role:
As a Staff Program Manager, you’ll partner with technical leaders to transform visionary AI research into actionable programs and technologies. From inception to commercialization, you’ll oversee strategic initiatives, manage cross-functional teams, and align technical implementation with Qualcomm’s AI objectives.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead Strategic AI Research: Plan and execute high-impact research programs, translating ambitious goals into actionable strategies.
- Collaborate Across Disciplines: Partner with engineering, legal, and operations teams to ensure seamless program execution and successful technology transfer.
- Engage Academia: Oversee collaborations with universities, including funding research, organizing workshops, and showcasing innovations at academic conferences.
- Drive Organizational Excellence: Develop and implement best practices across AI research programs while ensuring compliance with IP protection policies.
- Budget Management: Manage resources, headcount, and budgets across multiple AI research initiatives.
What You Bring to the Table:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of program management or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise: 10+ years of engineering experience in AI, machine learning, neural networks, or related technologies like GPU, embedded SW, or computer vision.
- AI Visionary: 3+ years of direct experience in AI technologies and neural networks with a passion for innovation.
- Leadership Excellence: 10+ years of program management or engineering leadership experience, managing large-scale technical initiatives and budgets.
- Academic Engagement: Proven experience collaborating with research institutions or managing funded research projects.
- Process Innovator: Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Teams, Jira, Tableau, and Confluence, with a knack for streamlining workflows and enhancing communication.
Preferred Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
