Location: Remote (with occasional travel to Albany, NY and Trenton, NJ)

As an integral part of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead business development, optimize IT solutions, and build long-term relationships with key decision-makers at the state level. Your role will be central to driving growth and profitability across HPE’s diverse portfolio, while directly impacting the technology landscape of state governments.

What You’ll Do:

Drive Strategic Business Growth

  • Lead and manage existing and new business opportunities within state government agencies in NY and NJ, aligning HPE’s solutions with the customer’s IT and business objectives.
  • Influence C-level decision-makers and present HPE’s value proposition through tailored IT strategies that address their unique challenges and priorities.

Build Strong Relationships & Expand the Network

  • Proactively build influential relationships within the state government organization at all levels, including C-level executives.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the customer’s industry, their pain points, and how HPE can help them navigate their digital transformation journey.

Lead High-Impact Sales Strategies

  • Develop and execute comprehensive account business plans that drive measurable growth across HPE’s portfolio.
  • Oversee pipeline management, ensuring it remains strong, focused, and aligned with the customer’s evolving needs.

Deliver Results Across HPE's Portfolio

  • Position and sell HPE’s innovative solutions in big data, hybrid IT, IT services, AI, and security, ensuring that we meet the unique needs of government agencies.
  • Work closely with internal teams and partners to drive solutions from initial engagement through to deal closure.

Become an Industry Thought Leader

  • Stay on top of emerging IT trends and communicate the value of cutting-edge technologies to state agencies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and lead conversations about modern digital business solutions, helping state government customers evolve their IT infrastructure.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience

  • 8-12+ years of successful account management and sales experience within the State Government sector (preferably in NY & NJ).
  • Proven track record of driving growth in complex sales environments, with a deep understanding of public sector needs and procurement processes.

Skills & Expertise

  • Strategic planning and sales execution with the ability to articulate and implement a vision aligned with HPE’s strategic goals.
  • In-depth knowledge of big data, hybrid IT, IT services, digital business, and AI solutions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to engage executives and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with HPE’s portfolio and competitive landscape, with a knack for positioning solutions based on customer priorities.
  • Negotiation and influencing expertise to drive deals to closure.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience). Advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
