This hybrid role is based in Carlsbad, CA – a coastal city in sunny San Diego County – where you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with a talented team and create gaming systems that players will love. Ready to dive in?


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborate with designers and animators to build new, exciting gameplay systems that push boundaries.
  • Extend and improve existing open-world systems, ensuring a seamless experience for players.
  • Implement and optimize major systems in C/C++ (and other languages) for a large, cross-platform codebase.
  • Debug, polish, and maintain systems to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Partner with content teams to develop and refine systems that shape the next generation of gameplay.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Excellent C++ skills, with a solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
  • Proficiency in 3D math as it relates to game programming.
  • Strong design sensibilities and excellent communication skills – you’ll be part of a dynamic team.
  • A deep passion for gaming and creating amazing experiences for players.
  • Solid debugging skills and a knack for problem-solving.
  • 3+ years of experience in game development, ideally with commercial titles.

Bonus Points For:

  • Open world game development experience – help us build immersive, expansive worlds!
  • Expertise in areas like:
    • Player mechanics (especially in FPS)
    • Weapon systems
    • Animation (blend trees, IK, motion matching)
    • Multiplayer activity management
    • Networked game logic
    • Physics simulation & Vehicle simulation
    • AI (behavior trees, nav mesh, animation state machines)
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related field.
