Sutter Health is looking for a Director of Data and AI Governance to drive the strategic oversight of our data, analytics, and AI efforts. As a leader in healthcare innovation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how we manage, protect, and govern information across the entire organization.
In this role, you will ensure that high-quality data exists throughout its lifecycle and provide strategic leadership for data protection efforts. You’ll partner with key stakeholders to set policies that not only drive compliance but also promote efficiency in data usage, governance, and AI initiatives across the organization.
As the Director of Data and AI Governance, your responsibilities include:
Lead Governance Initiatives: Set and oversee the strategic direction for all data, analytics, and AI governance initiatives, ensuring high-quality data sources and execution across Sutter Health and its affiliates.
Drive Policy Development: Work with executive teams and key stakeholders to define and implement policies around data protection, data sovereignty, and data retention that comply with legal, ethical, and industry standards.
Orchestrate Governance Councils: Lead the governance council to ensure compliance with data, analytics, and AI policies. Facilitate decision-making and collaboration across cross-functional teams to align governance strategies with business goals.
Manage Teams: Direct the work of cross-functional teams, prioritizing their efforts and ensuring timely deliverables. Lead through change management, cultivating a culture of data literacy and understanding.
Strategic Oversight: Provide strategic guidance for the design, development, testing, and deployment of data protection and governance solutions across Sutter Health. Help streamline the data lifecycle management process.
Data Literacy and Training: Lead efforts to enhance data literacy across the organization, educating employees on key information assets and governance best practices.
Collaborate Across Divisions: Partner with privacy, security, risk teams, and digital leaders to ensure successful integration of data governance policies with data tools, AI initiatives, and digital transformation efforts.
Work from Anywhere: This role offers the flexibility to work from home within the Sutter Health Northern California footprint with the requirement to be onsite two days a week in Sacramento.
