What You’ll Do
As a Bioinformatics Scientist I, you’ll apply advanced AI/ML techniques to solve challenges in clinical genomics testing and computational biology. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you’ll drive process innovation, automation, and data-driven breakthroughs across R&D and business operations.
Your Responsibilities:
- Innovate with AI/ML: Develop and implement advanced machine learning models, predictive algorithms, and natural language processing (NLP) techniques to transform operations and research.
- Streamline Processes: Leverage cutting-edge large language models (LLMs) to automate workflows, documentation, and data analysis, improving efficiency and decision-making.
- Explore Data: Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA), uncover trends, and create scalable solutions for large, complex datasets.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with bioinformaticians, researchers, and business leaders to integrate models into clinical and operational workflows.
- Drive Innovation: Build automated tools and systems that revolutionize genomics research and business processes.
- Present with Impact: Communicate your findings through clear, actionable reports and visualizations, engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- PhD in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computational Biology, or related field with 2+ years of experience, OR
- Master’s degree with 4+ years of industry experience.
- Skills:
- Expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and NLP.
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
- Strong data analysis and visualization skills (pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
- Proven experience building and deploying machine learning models.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience:
- 1+ years applying data science and ML techniques to solve real-world problems.
- Strong background in analyzing large, complex datasets.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools (e.g., NGS pipelines, Illumina sequencing).
- Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) or large-scale frameworks (Spark, Dask).
- Background in clinical or biological data analysis.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and advanced AI tools.
