About the Team
The Recommendation Algorithm team is at the heart of TikTok’s success. From crafting personalized experiences to driving global platform growth, our team of machine learning researchers and engineers is dynamic, fast-paced, and impact-driven. Your Role – What You’ll Do
As a Research Scientist on our Responsible AI team, you’ll shape the future of how recommendations are delivered, creating a safer and more engaging platform for all.

• Build the Future: Design and deliver cutting-edge recommendation systems that enhance user experience, strengthen platform security, and grow our content ecosystem.
• Own the Process: Develop and optimize end-to-end machine learning solutions and infrastructure to solve complex product challenges.
• Collaborate for Impact: Partner with cross-functional teams to design innovative product strategies and solutions for global growth in key markets.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 1–3+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, or other programming languages.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Applied machine learning.
  • Machine learning infrastructure.
  • Large-scale recommendation systems.
  • Market-facing machine learning products.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A passion for tackling tough challenges with innovative solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A track record of delivering impactful machine learning products.
• The ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative environment.
• A growth mindset with a drive to constantly learn and improve.
