The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara is seeking a passionate and innovative individual to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor specializing in Computational Science, Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Scientific Computing. This full-time, tenure-track position offers an opportunity to contribute to world-class research, mentor future leaders, and innovate in teaching at one of the nation's top engineering schools.

What We’re Looking For

  • Basic Qualifications:
    • Completion of all Ph.D. requirements in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field (except the dissertation) at the time of application.
    • Ph.D. must be conferred by the time of appointment.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Strong publication record in top-tier journals.
    • Experience with collaborative and interdisciplinary research.
    • Demonstrated excellence or potential in teaching and mentoring students.
    • Commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in academia.

Salary & Benefits
