As an Assistant Professor specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, you’ll:

  • Teach and Inspire: Deliver innovative undergraduate and graduate courses (in-person, hybrid, or online) in areas like Dynamics, Control, and AI Applications in Engineering.
  • Advance Research: Establish a cutting-edge research program in AI and robotics, publish in top-tier journals, and secure external funding to drive innovation.
  • Mentor Future Leaders: Supervise undergraduate and graduate theses and projects, fostering student creativity and innovation.
  • Build Curriculum: Develop and update courses and academic programs that reflect the latest advancements in AI and robotics.
  • Promote Inclusivity: Champion equity and inclusion, designing culturally responsive teaching strategies and creating pathways for students from diverse and historically underrepresented backgrounds.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field (completion by August 1, 2025).
  • Specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, with applications in mechanical and aerospace systems.
  • Demonstrated teaching potential at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Commitment to working successfully with diverse student populations, including first-generation, low-income, and minoritized students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellence in teaching courses like Dynamics, Control, and AI/Robotics Applications.
  • Experience supervising student theses and fostering innovation through hands-on learning activities.
  • A proven track record of securing research funding and publishing in top-tier journals.
  • Active participation in academic governance and curriculum development.
  • Experience mentoring students from historically underserved backgrounds or incorporating culturally relevant teaching strategies.
