The Role: UNIX/Linux Hands-On Architect
As a UNIX/Linux Hands-On Architect, you’ll lead the design, implementation, and evolution of our enterprise-scale UNIX/Linux infrastructure. You’ll shape the hybrid cloud strategy, architect secure systems, and spearhead innovative solutions tailored to the needs of the financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Design & Hybrid Cloud Strategy
- Design and implement scalable, secure UNIX/Linux infrastructure solutions.
- Lead hybrid cloud initiatives, integrating on-premises and cloud-based systems.
- Develop architectural roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
Implementation & Leadership
- Lead the deployment of new UNIX/Linux infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical mentorship to the UNIX/Linux team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate UNIX/Linux with other platforms.
Security & Compliance
- Architect solutions that meet stringent financial industry regulations.
- Implement and maintain security best practices, conducting regular assessments.
Performance Optimization & Automation
- Design high-performance systems to handle enterprise-level workloads.
- Develop automation strategies with tools like Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
- Foster a DevOps culture with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
Disaster Recovery & Documentation
- Design robust disaster recovery solutions ensuring business continuity.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all UNIX/Linux systems.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- 10+ years of UNIX/Linux system administration and architecture experience.
- 5+ years in a senior architectural role within the financial services industry.
- Expertise in enterprise UNIX/Linux systems (Red Hat, Oracle Linux, IBM AIX).
- Deep knowledge of hybrid cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and scripting (Bash, Python, Perl).
- Familiarity with financial industry regulations (PCI-DSS, SOX, GDPR).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree and professional certifications (RHCA, LFCA, AWS Solutions Architect).
- Experience with big data, AI/ML infrastructure, and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native technologies.
