What You’ll Do
As a Commercial Insurance Inspector, you’ll work independently to provide on-site surveys and risk assessments to insurance clients in Elgin, IL, and within a 60-mile radius.
Your Responsibilities
- Schedule and perform on-site surveys for various commercial businesses, such as retail stores, restaurants, schools, hotels, construction sites, and more.
- Evaluate risks related to Property, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Inland Marine, Builders Risk, and Product Liability.
- Identify potential hazards, recommend safety improvements, and provide detailed reports to insurance clients for underwriting purposes.
- Manage assignments, secure customer appointments, and ensure timely completion of work.
- Deliver high-quality service while meeting client standards and deadlines.

What You Bring
Preferred Skills & Background
- Experience in commercial insurance, real estate, construction, claims, loss control, fire safety, or underwriting is a plus.
- No prior experience? No problem! Candidates without experience can qualify by completing a 15-hour online certification course (we can provide referrals).
Tools & Technology You’ll Need
- A Windows-based computer with scanner and printer (Macs not compatible).
- A digital camera for capturing high-quality images.
- A measuring device (laser, 100-ft. tape, or measuring wheel).
- Reliable high-speed internet and a vehicle for transportation.
