What You’ll Do
As an Instructional Technologist, you’ll:
- Empower Learning Through Technology: Provide frontline support for instructional technologies and multimedia, helping educators and learners maximize their impact.
- Create Immersive Content: Lead student developer teams to produce cutting-edge multimedia that bridges online/mobile platforms and classroom environments.
- Design for Diverse Learners: Tailor instructional technologies and multimedia for various levels of educators and learners, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
- Innovate with Graphics: Plan and execute compelling visual layouts and designs for print and digital media, leveraging tools like Adobe Suite, AI, and more.
- Be a Strategic Partner: Offer feedback and recommendations on course design, instructional techniques, and multimedia strategies to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Act as a liaison with printers, contractors, and suppliers on media projects while assisting in advertising strategies for the unit.
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in instructional technologies or graphic design.
- Familiarity with university Learning Management Systems (LMS), particularly Blackboard.
- Documented experience in creating graphic content for synchronous and asynchronous learning environments.
- Proficiency with tools like Adobe Suite, AI, Yuja, and Teams.
- Experience in designing web-based graphics content.
- Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn institutional software systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in postsecondary education contexts, individually or as part of a team.
- Familiarity with interactive online course design tools such as SoftChalk or Articulate.
- Supervisory or administrative experience managing staff or students in a tech-driven unit.
