???? What You'll Lead:

  • Drive Innovation: Lead the development of advanced, physics-based AI/ML algorithms and models tailored for UAS/Avionics subsystems.
  • Shape AI Architecture: Design and oversee the architecture for AI development in mission-critical aerospace systems.
  • Manage Multidisciplinary Teams: Lead a team of scientists, analysts, and engineers to deliver impactful AI-driven solutions for key defense programs.
  • Influence the Field: Author research proposals and papers, and represent the department at conferences.
  • Mentorship: Train and mentor junior AI staff, nurturing the next generation of AI talent.

???? Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation of AI systems and embedded avionics solutions, ensuring they meet stringent performance standards.
  • Spearhead AI/ML sensor fusion solutions for aircraft systems, driving both innovation and integration.
  • Review and validate AI/ML architectures, ensuring they align with integrated design requirements.
  • Manage all progress on AI-related projects, from conception to deployment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate AI-related hardware into complex systems.

????? Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, AI, Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience leading AI/ML development in aerospace systems.
  • Expertise in Python, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, and other AI/ML frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead firmware development for AI solutions.
  • Strong background in Machine Learning applied to Data Science and Technology.
  • U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for security clearance (must pass government security investigation).
  • Valid driver’s license for potential travel needs.
