Position Overview

The Postdoctoral Fellow will engage in groundbreaking research using cutting-edge technologies like CRISPR gene editing, single-cell RNA-Seq, super-resolution imaging, and AI-driven design. You will work on NIH-funded projects focusing on Alzheimer’s disease and therapeutic discovery, with ample opportunities for independent research and professional development. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology, with prior experience in iPSCs, organoids, or brain research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Cutting-Edge Research: Work on experiments in synaptic signaling, neuropharmacology, and disease mechanisms at the molecular, cellular, and system levels.
  • Collaborate & Innovate: Use modern techniques such as CRISPR gene editing and AI-aided research to explore therapeutic strategies.
  • Disseminate Findings: Present research at local, national, and international conferences and contribute to publications in high-impact journals.
  • Mentor & Lead: Supervise and guide graduate assistants, students, and other research staff in the lab.
  • Research Protocol Development: Contribute to the design and execution of research protocols, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Ph.D. in biomedical science or related field from an accredited institution.

Preferred:

  • Experience in biochemistry, neurobiology, or cellular neuroscience.
  • Expertise with iPSCs, organoids, or brain research techniques.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and research software.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
