Your Role:
As a Data Scientist in our R&D team, you'll be at the forefront of transforming data into powerful insights. Your contributions will be integral to our mission of enhancing products and processes, with a strong focus on data collection, analysis, machine learning, and cross-functional collaboration.
What You’ll Do:
1. Data Collection and Management:
- Design and implement data collection frameworks to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and relevant.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to streamline data workflows, ensuring data is secure, accessible, and compliant with regulations.
2. Data Analysis and Insights Generation:
- Perform advanced statistical analysis and predictive modeling to uncover hidden trends and insights.
- Develop custom algorithms and models to support product development, process optimization, and innovation.
3. Tool and Technology Integration:
- Evaluate and integrate the latest data analytics tools to enhance R&D processes.
- Work with IT and engineering teams to ensure smooth integration with existing systems.
4. Visualization and Communication:
- Craft data visualizations that communicate complex results in an easy-to-understand way.
- Present findings and actionable recommendations to R&D leadership and cross-functional teams, guiding key decisions.
5. Collaboration and Support:
- Partner with teams from marketing to product development, providing data-driven support throughout the R&D lifecycle.
- Contribute your data science expertise to cross-functional projects, making data an integral part of every decision.
6. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Stay on top of emerging trends in AI, machine learning, and data science.
- Continuously optimize processes and introduce new techniques to improve data-driven decision-making.
7. Mentorship and Training:
- Provide guidance and training to R&D team members on data science principles and best practices.
- Foster a data-centric culture by encouraging the use of data in daily operations.
8. Project Management:
- Lead data science projects from concept to execution, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
- Manage resources effectively, ensuring successful project completion.
9. Compliance and Ethics:
- Ensure all practices follow ethical guidelines, privacy regulations, and company policies.
- Work closely with IT to address data security concerns and the ethical use of AI in R&D processes.
What You’ll Bring:
- Practical experience with ELN within the chemistry/life sciences industry (1-2 years minimum). Knowledge of the Uncountable platform is a plus!
- Strong experience in data management, statistical analysis, and using visualization tools.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address complex challenges.
- Proven ability to collaborate, communicate openly, and work effectively in diverse teams.
- Experience in project management and providing mentorship.
- Master’s Diploma in Data Science or an equivalent qualification with 2-3 years of relevant experience. A basic understanding of chemistry/material science is preferred.
