The Digital R&D (DRD) organization at Covestro drives innovative digital solutions for chemical and material science research. We are expanding our team of scientists and software developers to harness the emerging power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for material science innovation.

What You’ll Do:

???? Lead and support innovative AI-driven projects that advance material science research.
???? Analyze project requirements, identify relevant data sources, and select cutting-edge AI tools.
???? Develop, maintain, and automate data pipelines for chemical LLMs.
???? Create and implement models that ensure the confidentiality of sensitive data.
?? Collaborate with cloud architects to automate and monitor pipeline solutions.
???? Maintain existing AI models and solutions to ensure reliable operation.


What You Bring:

? Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience, Master’s with 2+ years, or Ph.D. with 1+ year of relevant experience in STEM fields.

? Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in AI or computational sciences.
  • Hands-on expertise in Generative AI, including LLM fine-tuning, pre-training, and RLHF.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, scikit-learn, OpenAI, and Anthropic APIs.
  • Knowledge of RAG indexing tools and cloud services (AWS preferred).
  • Understanding of polymer chemistry and data processing in R&D environments.
