As part of this dynamic team, we are looking for a Data & AI Policy Analyst who will be instrumental in shaping the future of data strategy, AI/ML policies, and regulatory practices across our organization.


About the Role:

As the Data & AI Policy Analyst, you’ll play a key role in defining data strategies and policies for gRED Computational Sciences (gCS). You will partner with global experts in regulatory affairs, privacy, intellectual property, and computational sciences to navigate the evolving international landscape of data and AI legislation (e.g., GDPR, EU AI Act). Your insights will help align gCS's scientific and computational goals with data usage regulations, ensuring compliance and fostering innovative data-driven research.


What You’ll Do:

???? Monitor and Analyze Data Regulations: Stay at the forefront of international data policies and AI/ML legislation (e.g., GDPR, EU AI Act, EHDS), and communicate their implications to key stakeholders.
???? Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with gCS Computational Biology, ML Drug Discovery, and Roche Pharma teams to align computational plans with regulatory requirements.
???? Develop Data Strategy: Help shape the data strategy and governance model within gCS, ensuring it supports our scientific ambitions and complies with policy regulations.
???? Implement Data Access Plans: Create actionable plans for managing data usage and access, ensuring alignment with global strategies and Roche-wide policies.
???? Evaluate External Data Providers: Contribute to the strategy of evaluating external data vendors and ensure alignment with FAIR data management practices.
???? Engage Stakeholders Globally: Represent gCS in global meetings, bringing together diverse viewpoints to develop Pharma-wide strategies and best practices.


Who You Are:

???? Educational Background: A combination of degrees in biological sciences, international affairs, public health, or a related field. Experience in lieu of degrees is welcomed.
???? Policy Analysis Expertise: Proven experience in data and AI policy analysis, ideally with international experience.
???? Scientific Collaboration: Experience working with computational scientists and aligning technical and policy-driven perspectives.
???? Global Perspective: Ability to navigate diverse stakeholder interests and implement change within large organizations.
???? Strong Communication: Exceptional written and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for various audiences.
?? Tech-Savvy: Experience in machine learning/AI models, CIPP/US or CIPP/E certification is a plus.
