What You'll Do:
- Conduct Impactful Research: Develop and apply computational methods, including AI, machine learning, and data analytics, to tackle key sustainability challenges such as:
- Clean energy systems
- Circular economies
- Resilient infrastructure
- Corporate sustainability and ethical AI
- Life cycle assessment and industrial ecology
- Foster Innovation: Leverage technologies like digital twins, high-performance computing, and neural networks to drive sustainability innovation.
- Teach & Mentor: Inspire the next generation of environmental leaders by teaching courses within SEAS' multidisciplinary environment and guiding graduate research projects.
- Collaborate Across Disciplines: Partner with cross-functional teams, leading research institutes, and global thought leaders in AI, sustainability, and data sciences.
- Advance Knowledge Dissemination: Publish and present research findings while contributing to the global academic discourse on AI and sustainable systems.
What You'll Bring:
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in engineering, data/computer sciences, or related fields leveraging computational methods for sustainability challenges.
- Strong scholarly publication record and evidence of teaching potential.
- A passion for applying research to real-world sustainability problems.
Preferred Expertise:
- Familiarity with data-driven methods such as AI/ML, natural language processing, or computer vision.
- Experience with sustainability applications in fields like energy transitions, sustainable finance, and green infrastructure.
- Demonstrated engagement in collaborative, interdisciplinary research.
- Visionary thought leadership in integrating AI ethics and environmental considerations.
