???? What You Will Do:
Set the Research Agenda:
- Identify emerging research areas, ambitious goals, and intermediate milestones. Drive long-term research strategies to amplify the impact of Tencent’s AI Lab.
Solve Cutting-Edge Problems:
- Address key technology gaps by developing innovative, theoretically sound models and algorithms for AGI applications.
Design & Experiment:
- Lead the design of experiments, write reusable code, run complex evaluations, and analyze results to validate breakthrough research.
Collaborate Across Teams:
- Partner with other researchers and engineers across various functional groups to propel AGI advancements. Ensure your research translates into real-world applications in Tencent's products.
Create Impact:
- Prioritize research that can be swiftly deployed and leveraged within Tencent’s ecosystem. Ensure that promising ideas reach a broad audience.
Lead the Research Community:
- Share your research through publications, speaking engagements at conferences, and by contributing to the broader AI community. Author research papers that highlight the innovative outcomes from your work.
???? What We Are Looking For:
PhD in AI/Computer Science/Related Fields:
- You hold, or are working toward, a PhD in AI, computer science, electrical engineering, math, physics, or a related technical field.
Proven Research Excellence:
- You have a history of influential publications in top-tier AI conferences and journals.
Expertise in Key Areas:
- Extensive experience in generative AI, large language models, reinforcement learning, multimodal reasoning and generation, or efficient deep learning.
Hands-On Deep Learning Experience:
- Proficient with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
Complex Experimentation:
- Experienced in developing, running, and analyzing experiments that involve large AI models and diverse data sources.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Strong communication skills for sharing research ideas, results, and their broader impact, both within Tencent and in the wider research community.

Multi-Disciplinary Expertise:
- Experience in multiple areas, such as multimodal reasoning, large language models, or reinforcement learning.
Strong Mathematical & Abstraction Skills:
- Ability to work with complex mathematical concepts and models, along with the ability to abstract problems to build innovative solutions.
Large-Scale Systems & Models:
- Experience working with large datasets and developing scalable models for multi-GPU or cloud environments.
Optimization for Production:
- Expertise in optimizing models for deployment and performance in production settings.

???? Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive Salary: Base pay range of $174,000 to $294,000 per year, with additional performance-based compensation.
