Location: Spokane, WA | Department: Computer Science | Position: Tenure-Track | Start Date: Fall 2025

???? What You’ll Do:

  • Teach & Inspire:
    Lead undergraduate courses in programming, data structures, computer organization, cybersecurity, and software development, with opportunities to teach advanced technical electives in areas of personal interest. Help shape the next wave of computer scientists through inclusive, equity-minded teaching.

  • Engage in Research:
    Conduct high-impact research in cybersecurity, contributing to the body of knowledge in this fast-evolving field. Collaborate with peers in a research-active department and contribute to publications and conferences.

  • Advise & Mentor:
    Guide undergraduate students through their academic journey, advising them on curriculum choices and career paths. Involve students in research opportunities, senior design projects, and collaborative initiatives.

  • Contribute to Gonzaga’s Mission:
    Align your work with Gonzaga’s Jesuit values, fostering leadership and service in students, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds.

  • Professional Development:
    Take part in ongoing development through faculty learning communities and support for research and scholarship in your field. Engage in departmental, School of Engineering, and University committees, contributing to Gonzaga’s community.


???? What We’re Looking For:

  • For Assistant Professor Rank:

    • PhD in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related fields (completed by July 15, 2025).
    • Evidence of teaching excellence or mentorship, especially at the undergraduate level.
    • Ongoing scholarly/research activity in cybersecurity.
  • For Associate Professor Rank (5+ years experience):

    • Proven record of scholarly research and publications.
    • Experience in developing and teaching cybersecurity courses.
    • Evidence of inclusive, engaging teaching practices.
  • For Full Professor Rank (10+ years experience):

    • Established record of achievement in research (publications, presentations, etc.).
    • Strong track record of engaging with students and developing new courses in cybersecurity.
    • Leadership in academic or research communities.
