Your Mission:
Imagine leading efforts that fuse AI/ML capabilities with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) mission data processing — driving the evolution of space operations. You’ll help bring ideas from conceptual R&D to tangible tools and systems that empower national security missions.
Your leadership will be the catalyst for:
- Developing game-changing AI/ML technologies for mission-critical space data processing.
- Shaping and executing the government’s R&D strategies and roadmaps.
- Spearheading innovative proofs-of-concept, prototypes, and pre-contract demonstrations.
- Partnering with vendors and stakeholders to deconflict, prioritize, and ensure smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pioneer New Tools: Lead R&D efforts for next-gen AI/ML tools in OPIR mission data processing.
- Align Innovation: Shape and synchronize AI/ML research roadmaps with evolving national security needs.
- Drive Execution: Push projects from ideation to fully functional solutions — ensuring value-driven outcomes.
- Collaborate & Influence: Build bridges between vendors, lab staff, and government stakeholders.
- Guide Technical Planning: Keep R&D efforts on track, bringing clarity and focus to complex challenges.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or relevant STEM field.
- 12+ years of professional experience, with 8+ years in AI/ML and technical leadership.
- Knowledge of OPIR Missile Warning and Tracking mission areas.
- Expertise in AI/ML solutions for mission data exploitation.
- Strong history of success in “go fast” R&D environments, leading from prototypes to deployment.
- Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain one).

- Cross-agency collaboration experience.
- Advanced degree in STEM.
- Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in dynamic environments and lead AI/ML teams to success.
