The Department of Computer Science at CU Boulder invites you to join a dynamic, world-class team shaping the future of online education. We are searching for an Online Graduate Program Specialist or Senior Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, student-centered environment, supporting the next generation of tech leaders in the Master’s in Computer Science (MS-CS) and Master’s in Artificial Intelligence (MS-AI) programs.
As a key player in our department, you'll help students from all walks of life realize their academic and professional dreams through cutting-edge online learning platforms like Coursera. What You’ll Do:
Student Success & Advising
- Guide online graduate students through course selection, degree progress, and program navigation.
- Provide proactive support to create meaningful student experiences from enrollment to graduation.
- Solve registration challenges and manage inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
Recruitment & Outreach
- Serve as the face of our online programs by engaging prospective students through webinars, recruitment events, and email outreach.
- Craft and execute innovative recruitment strategies to attract diverse learners from around the globe.
- Maintain compelling program materials, ensuring a strong online presence for the department.
Program Development & Events
- Design and coordinate online events that foster a strong sense of community.
- Celebrate student achievements with virtual graduation recognitions and networking events.
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to create a welcoming environment for all students.
For Senior Specialists:
- Lead key department initiatives and mentor new advisors.
- Serve as a resource for program leadership, taking ownership of larger projects and improvements.
What You Bring to the Table:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year (Specialist) or 3 years (Senior Specialist) of experience in advising, student services, program administration, or similar roles.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion with cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Higher Education or a related field.
- Experience supporting online learners, especially in graduate programs.
- Familiarity with Coursera, Slate, or other university systems.
- A creative and resourceful approach to engaging global students.
