You’ll be at the heart of the Global Agile Release Train (ART), where your expertise will drive the development of complex algorithms and technical solutions that are critical to the future of missile defense.
This position is a unique opportunity to apply your skills to develop and analyze Track Server algorithms over massive data sets, advancing Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) capabilities. You’ll work closely with a dynamic team of engineers and technical experts, ensuring the proper implementation and validation of algorithms that protect our nation’s security.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop & Analyze Complex Algorithms: Lead the technical execution of algorithm designs, focusing on key domains like target tracking, classification, and prediction.
- Data Analytics & System Performance: Analyze system performance across large data sets, visualizing complex patterns and performing algorithm trade-offs to optimize missile defense capabilities.
- Collaborative Innovation: Partner with systems, software, and specialty engineers to ensure seamless integration of algorithms into operational systems.
- Documentation & Test Validation: Create and maintain Algorithm Description Documents (ADDs), as well as design and validate test sets to prove the efficacy of implemented algorithms.
- Customer Interaction: Work directly with government customers, providing expert insights and ensuring that your work meets mission objectives and standards.
- Global Team Leadership: Adhere to architectural guidance from the Global Architect Lead and the ART EPM, working closely to ensure cohesive, high-performance outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
Required Skills:
- Experience in Missile Defense: Strong background in operational and technical domains such as engagement management, track management, and sensor management.
- Data Analytics Expertise: Proven ability to analyze large data sets to assess system performance and visualize complex relationships.
- Algorithm Development: Demonstrated success in developing and optimizing target tracking, target classification, and target prediction algorithms.
- BMDS Familiarity: Experience working with Ballistic Missile Defense Systems is highly desired.
- Software Development Experience: Understanding of how algorithms transition into production software and experience with Object-Oriented Design principles.
- Collaboration Skills: Experience working in a cross-disciplinary team, collaborating with systems, software, and specialty engineers.
- Clear Communication: Exceptional ability to present technical solutions and findings clearly and effectively, both written and oral.
- Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel occasionally to Schriever SFB or other OCONUS locations as required.
Desired Skills:
- Machine Learning/AI: Experience working with machine learning, optimal control, and state estimation in defense applications.
- Advanced Techniques: Familiarity with statistical analysis, stochastic processes, orbital mechanics, and target tracking/correlation.
