Your Role as a Financial Assistance Advisor
As a Financial Assistance Advisor at ECPI University, you’ll have the rewarding task of guiding students through the financial aid process, helping them secure the funding they need to pursue their education. This role requires a compassionate, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will interact with students, parents, and guardians, offering advice and counseling on a variety of financial aid options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Counseling: Provide personalized guidance on payment methods, financial aid eligibility, application procedures, and financial planning. You’ll tailor your advice to each student’s unique needs, helping them navigate the financial aid process.
  • Financial Data Analysis: Collect and evaluate financial data to determine aid eligibility, making awards according to federal, institutional, and donor guidelines.
  • Problem-Solving: Address complex cases, reviewing unusual or mitigating circumstances and adjusting financial aid as needed to ensure fairness and compliance.
  • Communication: Serve as a key resource for students, parents, and guardians, answering questions and providing ongoing support in-person, via phone, and through written communication.
  • Eligibility Monitoring: Monitor students' ongoing eligibility for financial aid by analyzing reports related to grades, enrollment status, and awards, while proactively addressing any eligibility changes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with students, lenders, and faculty to resolve any financial concerns, ensuring smooth communication and solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred, with 2-3 years of related experience in financial aid or a similar field.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of CampusVue Student database (preferred).
    • Experience with AI tools is a plus.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively explain complex financial information to students and families.
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills.
    • Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and meet tight deadlines.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
