In this exciting role, you'll collaborate with experts across multiple disciplines to develop and deploy innovative AI/ML tools that power the next generation of High-Energy and Nuclear Physics (HEP/NP) experiments.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with computer scientists, physicists, and mathematicians to advance data science methods for HEP/NP.
  • Develop and enhance AI/ML tools for next-gen HEP/NP experiments, including uncertainty-aware learning and foundation models.
  • Mentor postdocs and students, fostering the next wave of scientific talent.
  • Lead research efforts to transform emerging AI/ML trends into impactful solutions for HEP/NP.
  • Drive independent projects and contribute to large-scale efforts that demand creativity, ingenuity, and problem-solving.

What’s Required:

  • Ph.D. in physics, computer science, statistics, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience with AI/ML development and tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX.
  • Deep understanding of anomaly detection, high-dimensional data analysis, and simulation models.
  • Track record of developing open-source AI/ML software and publishing research.
  • Ability to thrive in a cross-disciplinary team and communicate complex ideas clearly.

What’s Desired:

  • Experience with HEP/NP tools (e.g., Geant4, ROOT).
  • Familiarity with high-performance computing systems and optimization techniques.
