What You’ll Do:
- Algorithm Development: Design, implement, and optimize Neural Network-based algorithms to improve video compression.
- Standardization Leadership: Represent Qualcomm at major video compression standardization forums like JVET, MPEG Video, and ITU-T/VCEG.
- Cutting-Edge Research: Contribute to papers, presentations, and patent applications, documenting new algorithms and methodologies in the field.
- Collaborate & Innovate: Work alongside a world-renowned team of experts to develop state-of-the-art video compression systems using machine learning.
- Tech Evangelism: Present your work at conferences, drive internal innovation, and provide thought leadership within the organization.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Strong background in AI/ML: Experience developing machine learning algorithms, especially in data compression or computer vision.
- Video Compression Expertise: Solid understanding of video/image coding algorithms and experience with standards like VVC/H.266 or HEVC/H.265.
- Research Accomplishments: A track record of success with published papers at leading conferences or successful patent applications.
- Programming Proficiency: Expertise in Python and C/C++, with knowledge of PyTorch or similar frameworks.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal skills to clearly communicate complex ideas and results to diverse audiences.
Qualifications:
- PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related fields.
- At least 1 year of experience working with C/C++, MATLAB, or similar languages.
- Experience with video compression technologies and machine learning applications in data compression.
Additional Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, and 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- OR a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, with 3+ years of experience.
- OR a PhD in a related field with at least 2 years of industry experience.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $158,400.00 - $237,600.00, depending on experience and location.
