As a Machine Learning & Data Scientist focused on OS Power & Performance, you will work on high-dimensional data to generate insights that will directly influence decisions across Apple. What You’ll Do:
- Analyze High-Dimensional Data: Dive deep into large datasets to uncover meaningful patterns and insights that can drive impactful changes to Apple’s products and services.
- Build Metrics & Models: Produce actionable models, metrics, and simulations that can be used for analysis and to communicate insights across teams.
- Create Analytical Tools: Design and develop ETL processes (e.g., with Python & Spark) and powerful data visualizations (e.g., with Tableau) to translate raw data into actionable insights.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, from engineering to business stakeholders, providing insights that will directly influence business decisions and product development.
- Drive Performance Improvements: Apply your machine learning and data engineering expertise to optimize OS power and performance at Apple, influencing product decisions and driving the future of technology.
What You’ll Bring:
- Quantitative Foundation: A strong background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, with a solid foundation in mathematics, software engineering, and data analysis.
- Data Engineering & Analytics: Hands-on experience in transforming raw data into valuable insights through practical problem formulation, building of ETL processes, and creating data visualizations.
- Business Acumen & Problem-Solving: Ability to approach complex problems with a deep understanding of the broader business context, and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Adaptability & Collaboration: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and eager to work in a collaborative environment with diverse teams. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships are a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar quantitative field.
- Proficiency in Distributed Computing: Experience with technologies such as HDFS, S3, Iceberg, Spark, and Trino.
- ETL and Automation Expertise: Skilled in designing ETL flows and automating/scheduling processes (e.g., Kubernetes, Airflow).
- OS Knowledge: Familiarity with operating systems and experience in OS-level optimizations.
- Cross-Functional Project Leadership: Experience driving complex projects across multiple teams, ensuring alignment and successful outcomes.
- Strategic Insight: Ability to connect data insights to company-wide strategic goals, driving product and business outcomes.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $115,700 - $204,000 (based on experience, skills, and location).
