What You’ll Do:
???? Collaborate Across Teams:
- Partner with teams across Discord to work on the full lifecycle of data science analytics — from ideation and exploration, to building intuitive dashboards and conducting A/B testing.
- Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics that will improve the user experience and help keep users engaged and excited.
- Use cutting-edge infrastructure to build custom data sets that monitor new features and ensure we’re constantly evolving and innovating.
???? Drive Data-Driven Decisions:
- Craft clear, actionable insights through dashboards and reports for both technical and non-technical teams, empowering them to make informed decisions.
- Be the A/B testing champion—design, analyze, and interpret experiments to optimize features across Discord’s ecosystem.
?? Instrument Future-Proof Systems:
- Collaborate with engineering and data teams to design scalable and future-ready systems that will help measure Discord’s success for years to come.
What We’re Looking For:
???? Essential Skills & Experience:
- 4+ years of experience translating business challenges into deep insights using hands-on analytics.
- 4+ years of experience creating performant dashboards using tools like Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
- 3+ years of proficiency in SQL, especially when it comes to writing optimized queries.
- Strong communication skills—able to present complex findings to non-technical audiences.
- 2+ years of experience designing, analyzing, and interpreting A/B tests in a large data environment.
- A collaborative spirit and an innate curiosity to improve, learn, and grow within a passionate team.
???? Bonus Points:
- Passion for Discord or online communities.
- Experience leading analytics for social media or subscription-based platforms, with a focus on concepts like social graphs, LTV analysis, and funnel analysis.
- Expertise in user engagement and growth problems.
- Experience with BigQuery SQL and writing production-level ETL scripts.
