What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Senior Data Scientist at Guidewire-Cyence, you’ll help drive the next generation of cyber risk modeling for the (re)insurance and financial services markets. Your work will directly impact our platform and transform the future of cyber-insurance. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

???? Develop, Calibrate, and Deploy Risk Models

  • Build cutting-edge cyber risk models for predicting financial impacts of cyber threats across diverse portfolios.
  • Help design and deploy probabilistic risk models for global clients, making cyber risk quantification more accurate and actionable.

???? Explore Data, Enhance Models

  • Dive into multiple data sources, enriching our existing models with new features, assumptions, and insights.
  • Build tools that visualize the potential impacts of cyber events, making complex data easy to understand for stakeholders.

???? Integrate and Automate

  • Integrate modeling processes into Guidewire’s production pipeline to seamlessly feed our platform.
  • Develop and implement best practices for data validation, feature selection, and catastrophe exposure modeling.

???? Collaborate with Industry Leaders

  • Work closely with clients and internal teams, translating complex data insights into strategic solutions.
  • Take ownership of projects, mentoring junior data scientists and collaborating with product, engineering, and client teams to enhance our offerings.

What We’re Looking For:

???? Qualifications & Skills:

  • PhD or MS degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or other quantitative disciplines.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in statistical data analysis, predictive modeling, feature engineering, and data visualization.
  • Expertise in AWS tools (S3, Glue, Sagemaker), and data manipulation using Python, pandas, pyspark.
  • Experience in developing end-to-end modeling pipelines using AWS tools like Airflow, Redshift, and Athena.
  • A strong background in machine learning tools (e.g., Scikit-learn, XGBoost) and catastrophe modeling is a plus!

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $116,000 - $212,000
  • Plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
