Position Purpose
As a Data Scientist at CHEP, you'll use data to drive innovation and optimize supply chains. You will play a key role in developing tools and technologies that leverage data to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and create value for our customers. You will also have the opportunity to experiment with new data science techniques, push the boundaries of what's possible, and help CHEP remain at the forefront of sustainable logistics.
What You’ll Do
???? Machine Learning Innovation
- Apply machine learning techniques to internal and external customer projects, improving operational efficiency and customer value.
- Experiment with new data science methods and technologies, exploring their potential to solve current challenges.
???? Collaborative Contribution
- Actively engage in data science team discussions, sharing insights and feedback to improve the approaches and methods we use.
- Provide technical expertise in the selection and implementation of machine learning models.
???? Autonomous Project Execution
- Work autonomously on projects, delivering results on schedule while ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Communicate data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders, making complex concepts easy to understand.
What We’re Looking For
???? Educational Background
- BS degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems (or equivalent training).
???? Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Python, deep learning frameworks, and Spark.
- Strong understanding of machine learning and statistics, with hands-on experience applying these techniques.
???? Work Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in a data science role (ideal, but not mandatory).
- Proven experience working autonomously and delivering impactful results.
- Comfortable presenting data insights to non-technical audiences.
???? Additional Skills
- Experience with cloud computing environments, Kubernetes, and software development is a plus.
- Familiarity with languages such as Go or C/C++ is desirable.
