About the Role
Our insights team at Audible uses data to create value for both our company and customers. We’re looking for a Data Science Lead for our marketing and product measurement science team, focusing on understanding the return on investment (ROI) of our paid media and brand investments. You'll manage a team of brilliant scientists and work on sophisticated marketing models, driving key business strategies through data.

Your work will directly impact how Audible makes marketing decisions, guides scalable experimentation, and collaborates with partners like Meta and Google to refine measurement approaches. As a Data Science Lead, you will...

  • Lead and inspire a talented team of scientists in the marketing measurement space, guiding them on impactful projects.
  • Design scalable, efficient, and automated model solutions for marketing measurement, including lifetime value, media mix, and more.
  • Collaborate with economists, applied scientists, and cross-functional teams to ensure the right models serve business needs in the context of paid media.
  • Communicate complex scientific concepts in a way that’s accessible to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Lead Audible's global paid media experimentation program, ensuring scientific integrity and actionable insights.
  • Cultivate a positive, innovative team culture, and mentor rising stars within your team.

About You
You’re a data-driven leader with an exceptional understanding of marketing science, statistical modeling, and experimental design. You know how to take complex scientific methodologies and turn them into practical business strategies that make a real impact. You're a proven leader who thrives in ambiguity and loves collaborating with others to solve big challenges.

  • Deep technical expertise: Statistical modeling, machine learning, causal inference, and experimental design.
  • Proven leadership: 3+ years managing scientists or engineers, with a passion for mentoring and developing talent.
  • Hands-on experience: With marketing measurement models, A/B testing, and meta-analytical approaches to evaluate program health.
  • Fluency in Python and SQL: You can build, test, and deploy robust models at scale.
  • Clear communicator: You can distill complex science into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Bonus Points If You Have...

  • A PhD in a relevant discipline.
  • Expertise in marketing science, particularly marketing mix modeling (MMM) or media ROI measurement techniques.
  • Experience working in entertainment, subscriptions, or digital commerce.
  • A strong background in software engineering best practices.
