A Day in the Life
As a Data Scientist/Developer at Red Alpha, you’ll be part of an agile, collaborative team that leverages Natural Language Processing (NLP) to solve complex problems. You'll get the chance to prototype, test, and deploy innovative solutions that directly support customer needs. Plus, you’ll have the flexibility to bring your own original ideas to life, all while working in an Open-Source environment. You’ll have access to commercial cloud tools, libraries, and resources that help drive development and implementation.

What You’ll Do:

• NLP Development: Leverage your experience with SpaCy, Scikit-learn, and TensorFlow to build models that analyze text, extract insights, and automate processes.
• Data Engineering: Work with AWS cloud services (like Lambda, Sagemaker, and AWS Glue) to manage and process vast amounts of data.
• Machine Learning: Apply supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning techniques, and other advanced algorithms to large datasets.
• Software Development: Dive into full-stack development with Java, Spring Boot, and modern frontend frameworks like Angular (or React/Vue).
• Visualization: Use tools like Jupyter Notebooks to visualize insights and communicate findings clearly.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Proficiency in Python/R: Familiar with pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and TensorFlow.
• Machine Learning & NLP: Experience with algorithms such as classification, clustering, and deep learning. Familiarity with topic modeling and entity extraction.
• Security Clearance: Must have TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
• Experience:
  • Entry-level: 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Mid-level: 3-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Senior-level: 6+ years of experience, including leadership or team management.
• Educational Background: B.S. in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):

• Cloud Development: Familiar with AWS cloud services like Lambda, Sagemaker, and Glue.
• Full-Stack Development: Experience with Java, Spring Boot, or Angular (React/Vue).
• Data Workflow: Familiar with Apache NiFi and ElasticSearch.
• Agile: Comfortable working in an Agile environment and using CI/CD practices.
