About the Role:As a Data Scientist at Intrepid, you will have the unique opportunity to provide data science-rooted analysis in support of the Army's annual Program Objective Memorandum (POM) development and defense. Your work will directly impact key decisions in POM planning, budget reviews, and program assessments. You’ll serve as the senior team data scientist, providing independent and responsive analysis that shapes and informs critical programming decisions.
You’ll also have the chance to develop data science applications that improve program insights, optimize operations, and enhance decision-making processes, all while working in a collaborative environment with industry experts.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Deliver data-driven analysis to inform and influence POM development, program planning, and budget reviews.
- Develop digital applications using modern programming languages and data visualization tools.
- Serve as the senior data scientist on the team, guiding technical direction and ensuring analysis accuracy.
- Create custom data science applications to improve program insights and decision-making.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure data synchronization and requirements are met.
- Occasionally contribute your expertise to proposal efforts and contract re-competes.
What You’ll Need:
- Active SECRET Security Clearance (required).
- 15+ years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in a non-STEM field.
- Strong programming skills in R or Python, with emphasis on data analysis frameworks like Pandas, NumPy, and Tidyverse.
- Experience with data visualization frameworks (Shiny, Streamlit, Dash, Plotly, ggplot2) and SQL databases (Postgres, Oracle).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to create innovative, actionable insights.
