What You'll Do:

• Build Data-Driven Models: Use machine learning, statistical methods, and open-source tools to design models that predict and optimize talent strategies across Capital One.
• Support Strategic Talent Initiatives: Apply your data science expertise to help Capital One attract, develop, and retain top talent, and create an exceptional associate experience.
• Transform Human Capital: Dive into the data and solve complex challenges surrounding associate behavior, productivity, diversity, and executive pipeline building.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work with business partners to interpret data, inform decisions, and contribute to the company's talent strategy.
• Innovate Continuously: Stay on the cutting edge by researching emerging data science technologies and methodologies and apply them to the People Analytics space.

Who You Are:

• Statistically-Minded: You’re experienced in building, validating, and backtesting models. You’re familiar with confusion matrices, ROC curves, and various machine learning techniques (clustering, classification, sentiment analysis, etc.).
• Tech-Savvy: You’re comfortable working with open-source languages and cloud platforms, and you’re eager to develop new skills.

Basic Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience in data analytics OR Master’s degree with 1 year of experience in data analytics.
• Skills:
  • At least 1 year of experience with open-source programming languages (Python, R, etc.)
  • At least 1 year of experience with machine learning techniques
  • At least 1 year of experience working with relational databases (SQL)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced Education: Master’s or PhD in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
• Experience:
  • At least 2 years of experience in Python, PyTorch, Scala, or R
  • At least 2 years of experience with machine learning
  • At least 2 years of experience with SQL
  • Experience working with AWS
