Position Purpose:
We are looking for a Data Scientist II to join our dynamic team to drive predictive analytics and innovative solutions in healthcare. Your primary focus will be on leveraging big data and data science technologies to analyze complex healthcare data, develop predictive models, and deliver insights that directly impact the outcomes of key healthcare initiatives. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the development of algorithms that predict member outcomes and optimize healthcare programs.
What You'll Do:
- Innovate with Data Science: Design and develop data models that predict key member outcomes and help improve health management programs.
- Analyze Complex Data: Utilize advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze both structured and unstructured data from various healthcare sources.
- Build Predictive Models: Develop algorithms for healthcare innovation, ensuring that they meet targeted business needs.
- Lead Exploratory Data Analysis: Conduct deep data exploration to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in health management.
- Collaborate & Communicate: Present your findings to key stakeholders, contributing to decisions that shape Centene's strategies and healthcare programs.
- Automate Analytics Processes: Participate in the design and implementation of automated systems for scalable and durable analytics processes.
- Measure Program Impact: Use tools like SAS, R, and R Shiny to validate health management programs and measure outcomes.
- Mentor & Train: Assist in the development of junior team members, helping them grow their data analysis skills and contribute to projects.
What We’re Looking For:
- Educational Background: Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Informatics, Econometrics, Engineering, or a related field (3+ years of relevant experience) OR a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in quantitative data analysis.
- Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in data science techniques including data mining, predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
- Hands-on with Tools: Experience with data manipulation and analysis using tools like SAS, R, R Shiny, and database technologies such as Oracle, SAP HANA, DB2, Teradata, MS SQL Server, and MySQL.
- Data-Driven Problem Solver: Experience in evaluating and designing experiments to monitor key health metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Healthcare Experience (Preferred): Knowledge of healthcare data such as provider, claims, and membership data is a plus.
