Your Opportunity:We’re seeking a Spec Regulatory Affairs professional who will help drive the regulatory compliance, label development, and approval processes that support Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream’s exciting new innovations and products. You’ll play an essential role in ensuring that our ingredients, labels, and claims align with the highest regulatory standards, helping us continue to bring new frozen treats to life in the US market.
What You’ll Do:
- Compliance by Design: Lead the creation and approval of product labels, ingredients, allergen declarations, nutrition facts panels, and claims, ensuring they meet both regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, legal, quality assurance, food safety, and product development teams to ensure compliance is embedded from the start of each project — from brief to launch.
- Regulatory Guidance: Provide regulatory expertise to internal teams to navigate the complex landscape of food labeling, product claims, and documentation.
- Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of the regulatory curve by monitoring local and international trends, evaluating the impact on Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream products, and implementing proactive changes when needed.
- Engage with Authorities: Represent Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream’s positions by engaging with regulatory agencies and trade associations, advocating for the brand and its regulatory interests.
- Documentation & Record-Keeping: Ensure that all claims and product information are well-documented and substantiated, while also maintaining regulatory systems and compliance tools to streamline processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Support the evolution of regulatory practices and systems by contributing ideas for process improvements and updating internal policies and procedures.
- Training & Mentorship: Contribute to team development by mentoring junior team members and fostering a collaborative environment.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Nutrition, Food Science, or a related field; MS/MA preferred.
- Alternatively, a BS/BA in another field with at least 2 years of relevant regulatory experience in the food and beverage industry.
Experience:
- 1-2 years in the food & beverage industry, focusing on regulatory affairs, food labeling, nutrition, or product development.
- Familiarity with FDA food labeling regulations and food allergens.
- Strong understanding of raw materials, additives, allergens, and their relevance to regulatory compliance in the food industry.
