Position Summary:
As an IT Business Analyst III at Dignity Health MSO, you’ll play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and Information Services. You will become an expert in analyzing business data, processes, and reporting requirements to ensure data integrity and accuracy. By collaborating with various teams, you will lead the charge in optimizing performance, solving business problems with data-driven insights, and supporting the evolution of reporting and business intelligence applications.
What You’ll Do:
- Consult & Collaborate: Act as an internal consultant to bridge business requirements with technical solutions. Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to understand their needs and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze & Report: Gather data requirements, conduct analysis, and develop dashboards, reports, and data extracts that provide actionable insights for decision-making.
- Monitor & Improve: Regularly evaluate performance indicators, monitor systems for data integrity, and provide creative, data-driven solutions to business challenges.
- Problem Solve: Troubleshoot issues related to data discrepancies, collaborate with teams to resolve anomalies, and ensure data is reliable for all stakeholders.
- Data Governance & Documentation: Collaborate with the Data Governance team to document processes and update procedures that enhance reporting standards.
- Process Improvement: Conduct gap analysis and propose business cases for process improvements, weighing the cost, service, and benefits of potential projects.
- Enhance Tools: Oversee the use of Microsoft Visio, Excel, and relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL) to support complex reporting and data analysis.
What You’ll Bring:
Experience:
- 8+ years of industry experience (or 6 years within MSO) with advanced knowledge of IT business systems, analysis, and reporting processes.
- Proven experience working with relational databases, such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.
- Experience using Microsoft Visio, Excel, Access, and other Microsoft Office tools at an expert level.
- Experience participating in a Data Governance Program and contributing to performance metrics definitions and standards.
Education & Skills:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to draw sound conclusions and provide actionable recommendations.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with managed care, particularly within IPAs or health plans.
- Experience with EZcap and working in healthcare-related data systems.
- Proficiency in advanced tools like SQL, Power BI, Crystal Reports, and Excel.
- Experience with statistical tools such as R, SPSS, SAS, or MatLab.
- Actuarial or statistical science experience, particularly in cost accounting, is a plus.
