Sutter Health is looking for an experienced Data & AI Governance Specialist to ensure the integrity, compliance, and ethical standards of our organizational systems. In this pivotal role, you will work across data and AI governance frameworks to ensure our organization meets both regulatory requirements and the highest standards of data stewardship.

What You’ll Do:

As a Data & AI Governance Specialist, you will:

• Governance Leadership:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of data governance frameworks across diverse platforms, with a strong focus on data quality, stewardship, and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations by providing oversight on governance activities, including data quality metrics and policy development.
  • Champion ethical and risk assessment practices within AI governance, embedding compliance processes into AI-specific applications.

• Collaboration & Integration:

  • Partner with various teams to align data and AI governance activities, ensuring all systems meet the organization’s standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance on AI governance principles and best practices, helping integrate these into traditional data governance workflows where necessary.
  • Engage with executives, management, and technical teams to ensure alignment on data and AI governance strategies.

• Compliance & Reporting:

  • Support the ongoing monitoring of data systems, ensuring compliance with all internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Produce governance documentation and reports, providing insights on data quality and compliance across platforms.

What You Bring:

• Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in data governance, data quality frameworks, and policy development.

• Skills & Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and risk assessment techniques.
  • Familiarity with AI governance principles, including embedding ethical standards and risk assessments into AI-based applications.
  • Proven experience in large-scale data management, compliance monitoring, and governance documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with executives, technical teams, and other stakeholders.

• Technology & Tools:

  • Expertise in governance tools and systems for managing data quality, compliance, and risk across various platforms.

Compensation:

• Pay Range: $53.59 - $80.39 per hour (determined by location and experience).
• This range reflects base pay, and additional benefits are included as part of the total rewards package.
