Position Overview:
We are looking for a Research Compliance Officer to support the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies in monitoring and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and university regulations within our vibrant research programs. If you're an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive professional with a background in research compliance and policy, we want you on our team!
What You’ll Do:
- Regulatory Compliance: Oversee research compliance activities, applying federal, state, and university policies and guidelines to ensure the integrity of research programs.
- Policy Development: Research, develop, and evaluate policies related to research compliance. Provide recommendations for improvement based on data analysis and industry standards.
- Grant Management: Assist in the pre-award and post-award processes, ensuring research projects comply with all required guidelines.
- Training & Guidance: Provide training on research compliance procedures, helping faculty, students, and staff understand and adhere to regulations.
- Problem-Solving: Investigate compliance issues and proactively recommend solutions to ensure successful outcomes for research initiatives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with a variety of stakeholders, including researchers, administrators, and regulatory bodies, to facilitate effective and efficient research processes.
What We’re Looking For:
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Ability to convey complex information clearly, both in writing and verbally, to diverse audiences, including federal agencies and researchers.
- Organizational Mastery: Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities, make independent decisions, and manage projects effectively.
- Analytical Expertise: Deep understanding of research compliance, policy development, and the application of data to create sound recommendations and improvements.
- Collaboration & Initiative: Ability to work in a team environment while independently driving projects forward and proactively addressing challenges.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of research compliance systems and web-based administrative tools.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Four years of professional experience involving research analysis, policy evaluation, or the development of administrative programs.
- Experience interpreting and applying regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Science or a related field.
- Five years of experience in research administration or compliance.
- Familiarity with web-based research and compliance systems.
